Being a room parent is a small time commitment
that makes a big impact.

Room parents serve an important role for our teachers and their classrooms. Our teachers and staff greatly appreciate any time you can contribute to our school. Here are the main room parent responsibilities:

charades words Plan and facilitate 2 classroom parties, the Winter Party and End of Year Party.
Charades Words for Movies Help the teacher with any bulletin boards, copying, etc., as needed.
charades words Do something special for the teacher's birthday or half birthday.

Please also consider being a copy room volunteer if you have an extra hour or two you could spare to help our amazing teachers!

Room Parent Details

Here are some important things to remember as you get started helping your child's teacher.

ALL ROOM PARENTS:

charades wordsPlease complete or re-submit an AISD background check.

Charades Words for MoviesSign and complete a PTA confidentiality agreement. Contact volunteer services for a copy.

charades wordsMark your teacher’s birthday on your calendar so you don’t forget.

If your teacher has a summer birthday, figure out a good alternative time to celebrate a “half-birthday” for them. Coordinate with the other Room Parents to decide if you will be collecting money for a class gift or encouraging families to celebrate individually by making cards and/or bring treats from your teacher’s favorites list.

LEAD ROOM PARENTS:

charades wordsMeet with your teacher to discussion their needs for classroom help.

Make an appointment with or send an email to your teacher to talk about their needs. Would they like help with cutting, pasting, sorting, copying, etc. for class projects? Communicate details to the other room parents via email.

Charades Words for MoviesFill out and make copies of your Parent Welcome Letter and the Getting To Know Your Teacher form.

Bring your copies to the school office to have them distributed to all students in your class in the Wednesday Folders or ask your teacher to send them out to their class-list electronically.

Remember, your teacher is the primary source for classroom needs, and the key to success is to communicate with the teacher early and often! If you have additional concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact the volunteer coordinator or the PTA president.

Have a wonderful year with your class and thank you!
