The Evans PTA supports back to school efforts each school year in many ways.  From cheering the Evans teachers/staff on as they enter Convocation, to helping set up bulletin boards before Meet the Teacher, to hosting Tears & Cheers on the first morning of school, to providing boxed lunches on the first day of school so that teachers can eat with their classes. 💜

This year our annual PTA fundraiser was called Raise Craze.  It was a service based fundraiser where students focused on Acts of Kindness!  The PTA introduced Sunshine the Stallion for the morning announcements, Evans had its first ever pep rally to kick off Raise Craze, students earned emoji keychains and signed the kindness banner, they enjoyed a movie during lunch, they had a blast with Mr. Preston at recess, and we collected new cereal boxes for charity.  It was such an amazing two weeks filled with fun, kindness, and fundraising! 🥳

We raised a total of $30,035, our students completed 1764 acts of kindness, and we donated 1606 pounds of cereal (almost 800 boxes) to Allen Community Outreach! 👏🏻

Over the month of October, Evans collected almost 800 new, unopened boxes of cereal to donate to the Allen Community Outreach Food Pantry as our Raise Craze school-wide act of kindness.  To celebrate, students, teachers and staff all gathered in the gym for the real life-sized domino chain! 🥳

We held our annual Walk & Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 9th! 🚶🏻‍♂️🚲🦽

Our PTA provided golf umbrellas to keep teachers and staff dry during pick-up and drop-off on rainy days, ensuring comfort and convenience for our dedicated staff! 🌧️

As a PTA, we feel it's so important to give back to our Evans teachers and staff.  Each month, we do a little something special for them to let them know we care and appreciate them!  This quarter, we brought in Funky Monkey snow cones, catered Salad & Go lunches, and held a candle making class. 🥗🕯️

We also always celebrate their birthday month (or half-birthday month) with their very own mini pie! 🥧

Polly Holyoke visited Mary Evans on Friday, October 11th.  We were so excited to welcome a Disney Hyperion author to campus this year!  Her presentations were one of a kind, and she even held a Q&A with some 6th graders during lunch! 👩🏼‍🏫
